Experiment 10 - Gamma

[ The elevators do not take you up to your living area. Rather, they take you DOWN, to a small room with three white walls, and one that is a thick, translucent plastic. There appears to be a chute of some sort behind the plastic wall. ]

Now, in order to determine how well you know each other, we're going to see which teams are the most popular. The rules are simple:

* At the end of the test, each team will suffer an attack. Each attack will kill about half of everyone present.
* You may choose one team (other than your own) to defend from this attack. A team that is defended will not be harmed.
* If you wish to defend yourself instead of another team, you must choose a team to attack.
* You may not refuse to choose.

...I'm going to guess we can't choose more than one.

Good guess.

I'm pretty sure each team gets one vote. And I think more than one vote for any team is pointless, so it's a matter of trying to cover as many people as possible, by predicting what the other teams would do. Unfortunately I'm coming up short on that.
halfcrocked: (would like to tell you)

[personal profile] halfcrocked 2012-07-14 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
...The problem with that is most everyone will be thinking that way, if they've got any sense.

Do you think Beta will be protected?
halfcrocked: (turn forever hand in hand)

[personal profile] halfcrocked 2012-07-14 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
Do we even know other teams well enough to begin to make that call? I don't.

[personal profile] universalboy 2012-07-14 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not entirely sure... I've met a few Beta members, but I don't know if they have connections with people on other teams that would want to vote for them.

Is there someone on Beta you're worried about?

[personal profile] universalboy 2012-07-14 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
I can understand wanting to protect someone you have feelings for - I know that desire extremely well. So I don't blame him.

[personal profile] bitofadick 2012-07-14 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
I wish I did, but I don't have the first clue.
halfcrocked: (but to be honest)

[personal profile] halfcrocked 2012-07-14 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
...As far as I can tell, they're just a bunch of jerks. So somehow I doubt other teams would vote to protect them.

[notably avoiding the question]
halfcrocked: (a shallow river by the road)

[personal profile] halfcrocked 2012-07-14 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
...Beta is a team of jerks. Do you think anyone would protect them?

[personal profile] universalboy 2012-07-14 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
The same goes for Alpha, but if that's your reason, I can understand. Do you think Beta would protect itself, then?
bitofadick: (56)

[personal profile] bitofadick 2012-07-14 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
... I don't know. Coulson seems pretty well-liked. And he died once already, so I imagine his friends would want to be extra careful this time.
bitofadick: and chicken skin. (Built a wife out of mannequin parts)

[personal profile] bitofadick 2012-07-14 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
I can't either. It's maybe not the same kind of feeling, but if it was a friend, or... my family, then... I'd probably do the same thing.
halfcrocked: (watch me as i gravitate)

[personal profile] halfcrocked 2012-07-14 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
....No, I think that Coulson guy would definitely want to protect a different team.
halfcrocked: (made me older than i was before)

[personal profile] halfcrocked 2012-07-14 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
Fair enough.

[personal profile] universalboy 2012-07-14 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
Agreed. I guess I should explain my reasons for Delta...

It's because I don't think the new people will be able to cope with dying very well. Not that I expect everyone or anyone to cope with dying well, period, but I'm worried about them.
bitofadick: (We all wish we were worms.)

[personal profile] bitofadick 2012-07-14 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
Wally wants to pick Iota, because Cassie's there, and... she's great, and she is a civilian, so I can't blame him. Takuto's leaning towards Delta. And I don't know what to do at all.

[personal profile] universalboy 2012-07-14 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
Mmm. But luckily Wally is here, yeah?

Or, uh, unluckily?
not_so_fast: (Not sure what I just put my finger in)

[personal profile] not_so_fast 2012-07-14 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
Era or Beta might, I dunno. Thor, Loki, and Darcy are from the same place as Coulson and them, so...
halfcrocked: (there's a part of me)

[personal profile] halfcrocked 2012-07-14 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
...That's a good point.
not_so_fast: (That doesn't seem right.)

[personal profile] not_so_fast 2012-07-14 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
...Yeah, Delta probably makes sense. But would other people vote for them for the same reason?

[personal profile] universalboy 2012-07-14 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
But now I'm wondering if someone else will do it for the same reason. Beta seems more likely to left open... and Alpha will probably vote for themselves.

[personal profile] universalboy 2012-07-14 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
That's what I'm wondering about. Maybe I should think about teams that nobody would vote for... but I think Alpha would vote for themselves.
halfcrocked: (watched as my sandcastle)

[personal profile] halfcrocked 2012-07-14 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
...Out of those two, which would you prefer?
bitofadick: (We all wish we were worms.)

[personal profile] bitofadick 2012-07-14 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
I don't...

[sigh]

I need to know the other teams well enough to guess who they'd pick. Who their friends are. And I don't.
bitofadick: Despair. (Default)

[personal profile] bitofadick 2012-07-14 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
Why would that be unlucky?
