Experiment 10 - Gamma

[ The elevators do not take you up to your living area. Rather, they take you DOWN, to a small room with three white walls, and one that is a thick, translucent plastic. There appears to be a chute of some sort behind the plastic wall. ]

Now, in order to determine how well you know each other, we're going to see which teams are the most popular. The rules are simple:

* At the end of the test, each team will suffer an attack. Each attack will kill about half of everyone present.
* You may choose one team (other than your own) to defend from this attack. A team that is defended will not be harmed.
* If you wish to defend yourself instead of another team, you must choose a team to attack.
* You may not refuse to choose.

It might be kinda stupid, but I want to protect Iota.

Why is it stupid? Wanting people to not get hurt isn't stupid.

Because I want to protect them because of one person.

Obviously I want to protect everyone. Just especially Cassie.

I'm happy for you! I did some of those skits with her, she was a lot of fun.

I mean, I should try and be more rational and figure out who we should vote for strategically.

... Do you think anyone else would pick them?

Era or Beta might, I dunno. Thor, Loki, and Darcy are from the same place as Coulson and them, so...

I need to know the other teams well enough to guess who they'd pick. Who their friends are. And I don't.

I don't either, really. I think Takuto is right, Alpha's probably gonna vote for themselves. I don't know anyone else well enough.


Do you think anyone will vote for us?

... If they don't... if we can pick... I'll take the hit, okay? I'm not making the call on the game. I'm not ready to do that again. So it's up to you three. But I don't mind dying or desyncing or whatever.

... it's not really a popularity contest, is it? If everyone votes for the same team, because they're the most popular or the most well-liked, then all the other teams will get hurt.

But if no one votes for the popular team because they think someone else will, then...

It's possible every team gets a vote, and everyone will be protected.

It's possible, but the odds are against it. Without a way to communicate, there's no way to know.

[ Runs a hand through his hair, thinking. ]

Do you have a preference, then?

... I don't know. I'm trying to be logical about it, but I don't— I-I can't predict what the other teams might do.

... if I had to decide, I would pick the team that has people that wouldn't be able to cope with dying very well.

And who do you think that is?

Delta. Though I don't assume anyone to take death well.
