Experiment 10 - Zeta

[ The elevators do not take you up to your living area. Rather, they take you DOWN, to a small room with three white walls, and one that is a thick, translucent plastic. There appears to be a chute of some sort behind the plastic wall. ]

Now, in order to determine how well you know each other, we're going to see which teams are the most popular. The rules are simple:

* At the end of the test, each team will suffer an attack. Each attack will kill about half of everyone present.
* You may choose one team (other than your own) to defend from this attack. A team that is defended will not be harmed.
* If you wish to defend yourself instead of another team, you must choose a team to attack.
* You may not refuse to choose.

Once, but it was due to a disconnect, not a death. Apparently it was the quickest way to stop us from learning information GLaDOS didn't wish us to know.

[cloak_and_sniper]

[speaks up from where she's talking to Lafiel]

You two are to stay a ways behind us.

[ probably won't listen to that ]

[knighting]

[yeah.. sure.. lets see if he listens to that]

Hardly. I've been lucky, and I haven't provoked her so Zeta wouldn't have to pay for my revival.

[cloak_and_sniper]

[that silence is very telling]

If no one survives, who's going to buy us new clones? And seeing as you two couldn't even decide which one of you was going to put the decision in, I doubt you'd manage to come to a decision on who should be the lone survivor.

[cloak_and_sniper]

[shrugs]

You've still done well, whether that's down to luck or not. I say we link arms and stand tall.

[as an f-u to GLaDOS. not that she'll care, but it's the little things~]

[grins and... plops down on the floor]

A new clone might help me get a decent amount of sleep for once, anyway.

[foil]

[knows she's right, but how stupid is it that they're just planning who will die?]

So you think.. these turrets are going to come out of the chute, and this wall will raise up and they'll fire at us?

[turns to look at her abruptly] Can you get behind them? The turrets.. could we move when the wall does?

[foil]

!!!! [stands in alarm]

One hour...

[cloak_and_sniper]

She'll probably pull the ground from under us if we tried. Even if she didn't, I doubt we'd get over there without being filled with holes. It's not worth the risk.

[prideofabh]

[sits with her]

What's keeping you awake?

[cloak_and_sniper]

I think that's our queue to get into position. I can never tell how much time has passed in here.

[knighting]

[frowns] Seems boring to just watch us die without giving us weapons. [growls and stands to pace, he can't stay still anymore]

[cloak_and_sniper]

To us, but this is a synthetic. A deranged synthetic.

[knighting]

[looks up from his pacing, coming over to stand near Shepard]

[knighting]

It seems ironic to me that my first introduction to this kind of life and all this [waves around him] and it's all deadly.

[foil]

[ chews on his lip, knowing if they formed a single file line, maybe only one person would have to die, but then if GLaDOS has everything figured out, then it seems people will die regardless ]

[lowers head, thinking]

[prideofabh]

I hate waiting.

[also coming over to stand near Shepard]

[cloak_and_sniper]

That's this whole place in a nutshell. Better you learn that now then later.

[offers her arm to Lafiel, glaring at Elliot]
