Experiment 10 - Zeta

[testingphase]

[ The elevators do not take you up to your living area. Rather, they take you DOWN, to a small room with three white walls, and one that is a thick, translucent plastic. There appears to be a chute of some sort behind the plastic wall. ]

Now, in order to determine how well you know each other, we're going to see which teams are the most popular. The rules are simple:

* At the end of the test, each team will suffer an attack. Each attack will kill about half of everyone present.
* You may choose one team (other than your own) to defend from this attack. A team that is defended will not be harmed.
* If you wish to defend yourself instead of another team, you must choose a team to attack.
* You may not refuse to choose.

[well, someone has had enough of raised voices. storms over and grabs them both by the collars of their jumpsuits, yanking them apart. anyone for possible whiplash?]

[yeah, he got that hint, too. sighs, and once he's settled, drops back down next to Elliot, bumping his shoulder in apology]



... We can't get out of this room, can we?

No. We can't. Neither of you are putting the vote in. Either myself of Lafiel will do it.

[knighting]

[looks over at leo and nods, reaching out to touch his wrist in apology]

You were talking about turrets.. what is that?

[foil]

[hateeeess fightingggg with elliot..] ~

[knighting]

[touches slightly, remembering that he never did apologize... before] Sorry.

[foil]

[almost euphoric sigh~] Do you remember the tea party?

I was really hoping we could do that again.

[knighting]

[smile] I was too. [leans against]

[foil]

[turns his head until he can see Shepard without drawing Elliot's attention, it's a pointed look he gives her: protect him if I can't?]

[cloak_and_sniper]

[speaks up from where she's talking to Lafiel]

You two are to stay a ways behind us.

[foil]

[ probably won't listen to that ]

[knighting]

[yeah.. sure.. lets see if he listens to that]

[cloak_and_sniper]

[that silence is very telling]

If no one survives, who's going to buy us new clones? And seeing as you two couldn't even decide which one of you was going to put the decision in, I doubt you'd manage to come to a decision on who should be the lone survivor.

[foil]

[knows she's right, but how stupid is it that they're just planning who will die?]

...

So you think.. these turrets are going to come out of the chute, and this wall will raise up and they'll fire at us?

[turns to look at her abruptly] Can you get behind them? The turrets.. could we move when the wall does?

[cloak_and_sniper]

She'll probably pull the ground from under us if we tried. Even if she didn't, I doubt we'd get over there without being filled with holes. It's not worth the risk.

[knighting]

[frowns] Seems boring to just watch us die without giving us weapons. [growls and stands to pace, he can't stay still anymore]

[cloak_and_sniper]

To us, but this is a synthetic. A deranged synthetic.

[cloak_and_sniper]

Machines full of bullets.

[knighting]

[looks at sharply] ... [sighs]

[cloak_and_sniper]

[shrugs]

[foil]

We should just tell her already.

[prideofabh]

I'll do it then.

[foil]

[ flinches, quick moment of hesitation, then lowers his fingers so he doesn't stop her. now to minimize the damage somehow ]
